Cruise ship wedding, Florida

The new Freedom of the Seas has arrived to Port Canaveral and already I have been on there four times. It is a beautiful ship with it's own shopping center and recreational areas. It is the biggest cruise ship on water in the United States today and for a wedding it is a great option if your looking for a short low key event. Here is the view from the DJ position overlooking the Carnival Sensation across the port. You can see a small buffet table set up.

Here is a unique photograph I took just before the wedding ceremony, it shows all three ships, the carnival sensation and the Disney Magic as well as Freedom of the seas.

The staff on the ship take care of everything from start to finish and the wedding planners and coordinators are always top notch on the ship. If you are a bride and groom wanting everything organized for you and brought on board consider this wedding experience.

"Another great wedding. The wedding was held at The Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana, Ohio. The Father of the bride, Chip Richter is a Semi-Professional entertainer. He has a band and they perform strictly to younger kids, using the same BOSE L-1 system. He was very impressed that I was using the BOSE System. He commented that my entire set-up was extremely professional looking and sounding.










Once again my light show impressed everyone, judging from all the comments I received. During and after the reception I was approached by many family members and friends. The comments ranged from "awesome music mix", "very professional", to "your performance and music truly made the reception a success". One of the guests was from Florida and he had heard that Academy DJs was based in Florida. He said he would recommend Academy to everyone he knows. Needless to say I had a lot of fun. "

The Lycra Spandex Projection Screen is the newest edition to our DJ service. The screen itself is about 7 feet wide and about 5 feet high, but when you stretch the material you can add about a foot to each side for ample viewing space and shape of your choosing.

St Michaels Woodside in Broadview Hts 6-6-9

The Sable-Friedel wedding was a rousing success. They were thrilled and the dance floor was packed all night. The photographer,who I never met before made a comment to me that I was one of the best DJs he had ever worked with. This was an excellent wedding in a beautiful setting. I love working at St Michaels Woodside in Broadview Hts and they always are so professional. check out the photo's of the dance floor(it was this way all night!) Tuscawilla Country club

Tuscawilla country club was the setting for a perfect early afternoon wedding where east met west. Josh and Reemya were married on June 6th 2009 and family and friends truly enjoyed a wonderull occasion. The country club has just upgraded and installed a brand new beautiful wood dance floor and new carpet. If you are considering a wedding venue close to Orlando take a look at Tuscawilla and what it has to offer. The interesting thing about this wedding was the fact that one half of the family was from India and they dressed in traditional Sari attire. The families danced together and requested salsa and Latin music. I did manage to get some Bhangra on too and classic Bollywood songs. Congratulations to MR and Mrs Hathaway

Academy DJs Paradise Cove

Florida can certainly dish out some weather! It was June 4th 2009 at one of my favorite locations in Orlando, FL called Paradise cove. Also known as BV water sports. This place is a gem and is so pretty for a wedding backdrop. I love it because when you hire the place it is yours exclusively and you are not sharing with another wedding party.

The scenario is great, right on a tropical Lake Bryan but I got there and the heavens opened. With Jessica walking down the Isle at 7 PM it was a complete heavy down pour. Then as if by a miracle it stopped and the ceremony took place right on time.

I played the ceremony music using a Bose sound system which enables you to play at the ceremony even though you are standing in the reception location.

Other than the rain everything went like clockwork. The food was amazing and I have now worked with Aloha Productions several times. The food consisted of real authentic Hawaiian and some very nice sauces to go with the meat dishes.

With Academy DJs in the house the dance floor was of course always packed. I have to mention and give credit to the kids that did a great job of the cupid shuffle, for there age the best I have seen.

Wedding at Leu Gardens, Orlando

I had the honor of performing at the wedding of Jennifer and Eric Young on Sunday 5-31-09 at the Leu Gardens, Orlando. If you have been to this location before you will know it is a beautiful historic manor home with extensive gardens right in the heart of Orlando.

The weather was beautiful, although very hot and the setting for the ceremony in the Rose garden. I can't wait to see these pictures taken by my good friends at Fat Katz Photograhy I am sure it will make for some seriously stunning photographs. A word of warning to any DJs performing a ceremony at the rose garden though. It is at least a half mile walk to carry all your equiment to the ceremony site. Bring a trolly or cart because you are going to need it. Arrive in plenty of time and be prepared to sweat. Do not get changed in to your formal wedding attire until you have set up the ceremony location and sound checked. For Ladies invited to a wedding in the garden due to the walk you may wish to save your heels for the reception back at the manor and not for the ceremony unless you want to walk a fair distance in them!

After the ceremony the guests then went back to the house for a cocktail hour and dinner. Catering was excellent as usual and provided by our friends at Puff N Stuff catering

The evening was perfect, a blend of good food, great conversation and of course fantastic music and dancing provided by Academy DJs
